KODAK VISION3 500T Color Negative Cinema Film is now repacked for still photography! So far, the best price/quality ratio money can get in the world of colour film photography. Our lab’s choice for taking colour photos with any 35mm camera. This film provides excellent dynamic range without adjustments in development, and neutral colour reproductions that are keen to the eye. And don’t forget – that’s the same film stock that is used in making Hollywood productions on film (for instance, works of Quentin Tarantino or Christopher Nolan). This is the same film base as CineStill 800T
All films are DX-coded for ISO 400 and 36 exposures (this small overexposure will do no harm to your photos!). These will work with most of the cameras with automatic film advance, although we cannot guarantee correct operation in such cameras. You can also always adjust the ISO manually on some cameras, but remember to write the ISO setting of exposure on the canister when you drop it off for development! We recommend exposing this film at an ISO of 400, 500, 620 or 800, and with a large range in latitude, these will give you wonderful results! Remember to tell the lab what ISO you used!
Kodak VISION3 500T is a high-speed, tungsten-balanced movie film characterized by a fine grain structure, broad dynamic range, and the flexible nominal sensitivity of a 500-speed index. It has a wide exposure latitude with exceptional highlight control for working in a variety of lighting conditions, ranging from high-contrast outdoor lighting to mixed interior light situations. Advanced Dye Layering Technology (DLT) is also used to reduce the appearance of grain in the shadows for cleaner detailing and clarity. As part of the VISION3 series of movie films, this stock has high archival stability and is well suited to digital post-production processes.
This film was loaded from master reels onto individual rolls. The film has a protective remjet layer that must be removed prior to processing in C-41 chemistry; we offer ECN-2 processing (native for this stock) with the remjet removal. Allow a tolerance of +/- 2 frames per roll due to manual loading.
PLEASE NOTE: This film cannot be processed in a traditional C-41 lab and must be brought to a lab that offers ECN-2/C-41 with remjet removal development. The Bigger Picture Cork offers ECN-2 development.
Bear in mind that this is an experimental product and is subject to any sort of imperfections (i.e. scratching); hence, no guarantee can be given regarding the quality of the roll. We do our best to keep the reloading process as safe as possible for film, but there is always room for imperfections. The film has been packed into recycled canisters. Please do not remove the sticker(s) completely to avoid misunderstandings at the lab of your choosing; film will work with most of cameras with automatic film advance, although we cannot guarantee correct operation in such cameras.
