Please read if you use the darkrooms.
To assist the smooth operation of our spaces, please keep the following in mind.
The film hanging clips are going missing, and they are expensive to replace. Please make sure to use them with care and return them to their bin when finished. Please don’t leave them by the scanner or on the tables/floors.
If you want to use a darkroom, please email the darkroom officer (darkroom@dupa.ie) with at least 48 hours before your requested time. The earlier the better.
When booking the darkroom, PLEASE detail what you plan to do (i.e. developing film, printing photos, scanning negatives). Also, include the length of time it will take you to complete and if you are bringing any guests.
Sometimes we will book someone to use the scanner and someone else to develop simultaneously because they are in separate areas. Please be as detailed as possible in your email to avoid double booking.
Darkroom workshops are paused at the moment, but there are plans to resume them when assessments quiet down.
For members using the darkroom to make prints, we have a stock of paper available for your use (within reason). See the following slide for the list of inventory.
If you would like to print on a paper type/size we don’t currently have, reach out to enquire, and we might be able to purchase it. However, if you’re going to do a large amount of your own printing, we recommend buying your own box of paper from John Gunn Camera Shop.
